Bo-Myster's Birthday Bash!

So we had Bo's birthday party this last weekend and it was a blast. (Though he won't actually be 2 until the 7th..) He is the sweetest little monkey I SWEAR!!!! I can't get enough of him! We had a water party (and we will every year because he is the only one of my FOUR children who doesn't have a winter birthday!) and it turned out to be a lot of fun, though it ended up raining on us.

Bohde had a
blast playing in all
the water!

Here
he is telling me to
go get some more
beer because he
just drank the last one.

He' such a teeny little thing!

We were hoping to get him
to 20 lbs before he turned 2,
and we still might... he's close.

Look how big he is!!

Of course,
Colbyn has to
show him up!

So funny! He's just chillin'.
Makin' sure everyone's havin' a
good time. Eatin' his doritos.

Hi Monkey!!

At one point Papa got attacked
by all of the kids. They soaked
him!! He wasn't taking it sitting
down though!!

He fought the good fight!
But he was out numbered...

...and he lost!

Good try Papa!!
Boy, he was soaked to the bone!

Great Grandma and
baby Wy-Wy. (...and part of Shayla,
refer to my previous post...)

...and some random kid in the
back...Hazel maybe?

Bohde's so friggin' cute that
we even had family come in
ALL the way from California
just to come to his birthday
party!!!

Yes, he is THAT cute!

Present time!!!!

After we were rained out
we all came inside for
presents.

I don't know who enjoys
this part more, Bohde or
his mommy...

Oh look! A sword! Wow, we
don't have ANY of those yet!
(Seriously though, he's been carrying
it around relentlessly!)

Look! A Dorky Monkey
Birthday Cake!!
This cake looked much
cuter before I tried to make
it!
Note to self: Just stick to
buying the friggin' cake.

However, it's ugliness
didn't stop him from
devouring it like a
crazy birthday cake eating
Monkey Feind.

Happy Birthday sweet
boy-who-was-supposed-to-
be-a-girl-but-we're-glad-he's-
a-boy-cause-he's-an-angel-and-
we-love-him-so-MUCH!!
We love you!!!!!

Later that same day....

Grrrr!

After he was all bathed and teeth
brushed and ready for bed...
..the Cake Fiend returns for
round two!

(Yes, he opened the dishwasher
to stand on in order to reach the cake.)

Naughty Crazy Birthday
Cake Eating Monkey Fiend!!!

ODE to SHAYLA

Ooooooooh! Look at that cute pic of Wyatt!!!! Waaaaaaaaaait a minute....who is that weirdo behind him? That's right folks, it's SHAYLA!! Picking her nose!

Well a few posts ago...I believe it was the 4th of July bash, my adorable sis was super sad :( after she read my post and saw that I neglected to put any pics of her in there. She WAS there, but evidently she was pretending to be invisible and avoided the the camera all night.

Well Shay (aka: Shay-bay, butt-munch, shnookums) we don't want you thinking you're not loved!!! So here are some pics from our latest bash. I basically followed her around with the camera... She chuckled at first--then she just thought I was creepy and kept trying to kick me. I'm sure she can now empathize with famous people. (not that your NOT famous Shay...)

Here she is all beautiful and such. (You should have SEEN her prep for this pic. Holy friggin cow...I was laughing so hard I'm surprised I was able to keep the camera still.) But she did it. Such beauty!

Sorry Shay-boy she's gonna be mad I put this one in-but I had to do it. If you have a dorky pic like this of someone else, you have to show everyone. It makes you feel better about yourself!

She's telling a funny story about how she hit an old lady with a spit-wad at the grocery store and then hid.

Now usually I would put this pic on my blog and talk about how much I love my cute grandma, but not right now. Basically this pic is here because part of Shayla is in it. See her? She's on the left.

(Grandma is holding cute baby Wy-Wy. ...wwwhhhooo is Shayla's son! Yessss! I KNEW I cute tie her into that too!)

Beautiful!!! (She worked so
hard for this pic, I would feel bad
putting it in only once.)

Here Shayla is guffawing! It's a fake guffaw, but you can't tell can you?! Man, she's the best fake-guffawer in the WORLD! I love her sooo much!

Again, one would think that I put this cute pic in my blog because it's of my sweet son going down a water slide. But alas, it is not. This pic is here because of the gorgeous chick pushing him down the slide.

Go Shaaayla. Go Shaaayla. It's your Birthday. But it's actually nooot. It's Bohdeee's. But this blog is about yooouuu. So who caaaaares!
(Sing that to "it's your birthday" tune, then it make sense.)

Finally folks. The grand finale!! Yup I did! I put it in! We can't have a Ode to Shayla blog and not put in this pic. Seriously?!

We love Shayla so much! Every last inch of her!!!

I'd like to end this blog with a short 'Shayla' anecdote. (I have MILLIONS!) Yesterday my innocent husband called her, albeit early in the morning, to ask her a quick question. When the brief conversation was over and it was time to end the call, Brandon opted for the normal, "...okay, talk to you later." But evidently Shayla had decided previous to this conversation that we need to be a closer family. So she followed up by saying, "...love you, bye."
Confused, Brandon opted to not vocalize his reciprocated love.
Later, when she was notified of her apparent love for Brandon, she was deeply offended that he did not return the affection. Soooo NOW we all have to tell each other how much we love each other WHENEVER we talk! No matter how long or brief the conversation, or what the relationship is, we HAVE to tell them we love them! What a pain! But who knows, maybe it will bring us closer together as a family. After all, family is forever right?!

We LOOOOVVVVEEEE you Shay!!!

I have a new TALENT!!!!

Thanks to my sweet cousin Ashlee...

I can now:
-Click my tonge
-Pop my lips
-Rub my belly
-Pat my head
-Hum a fun tune

...ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

I know! Really, I have never felt smarter! And I know what you're thinking but, no, you cannot be me.

Does anyone fully understand the brainpower that this requires?

Probably Ashlee does.

Thanks Ash, I wouldn't be this smart without you.

Whew! What a weekend! Yes, I know, it was over two days ago! But for those of you who know me know that I'm doing friggin awesome to be blogging about it this quickly!!! Go me! Go me! I'm Awesome! Uh-huh!! Oh-yeah!! (Say that with the "It's your Birthday" tune.)

Neee-ways.... K-Rock was in the Riverdale Parade on Saturday! It was for his dance group. So fun! Well anyone that knows him, knows that he's a little bit of crazy. (Ok, he's like a lotta bit of crazy!) So we were thinking that he was gonna luv being in this parade and go....well, crazy. Well....he sat there....staring..... ..the....whole...time.....? What the...???? (He's to the right of the pic. It's ok Kess, we still luv you!

His uncle Mike taking a pic of him...sitting there.

Funny side note: Masta B works for a local credit union. So when a truck with this credit unions logo on it drives by in the parade, the boys went friggin buck-wild. Hootin and hollerin, jumping up and down....Everyone around us was just sitting there, because, well, who cheers for a bank??? They weren't even throwing candy! I'm sure that they were all like, "Why are those small children getting so hyped up about a bank for? Hm, maybe they have a CD or a 504 there with a great interest rate!" Good times.

Coletty and Bo-Myster enjoying the parade.

Here is the man of the hour. ---Oh and K-Rock.

(Sure NOW he's smiling!)

Next day we had a little get together at our place. I love my family so much. We had a great time eating yummy food and playing Pom-Pom-Poley in our backyard. Though I won't be surprised if I see a 'for sale' sign in our neighbors yard soon. (We are not exactly the...quietest group of crazies!)

Our neighbors were doing some fireworks and the kids took it upon themselves to achieve a height necessary for them to easily partake of them also. (Yeah, we don't really worry about privacy or social etiquette's either... Again, 'for sale' sign might be going up.) Poor Bo-Bo, he could not achieve the necessary height.

My Gramma, Mommy, Colette and Mike, and the back of some weird guy's head. (kyle)
(My gramma is so friggin cute- I want to be like her when I grow up!)

Kyle, Dad, Masta B. They all ate WAY too many hot dogs, and hamburgers.

Sweet Bo-Myster. He's cool as long as he has something to push....

Boys with their sweet cousins Breqy and Hazy-babe.

Cute pic! We didn't even pose them or anything. They were ALL playing on this at the same time. Aarrrgghh!! So cute!!!

Papa with Wy-Wy and K-Rock.
Be careful guys, he's freeeking OLD!!

Finally, we ended the night with some fireworks. I take this very seriously. You have to intermingle the good ones with the boring ones. Throw a good one in sporadically, so as to not lose your audience! But you still have to use the boring ones, we don't want to be wasteful. They're more like fillers; they simply get you from one good one to the next. It's a science.
Happy Fourth All!! BTW- We live in a great country and I am grateful to those who have spilt their blood so that we can have the freedoms that we do. Freedom like we have can only be bought with blood. I can't say that I would have the courage to die so that OTHERS may be free.
Thank You!

Summer is flying by!! And with these four kiddos at home all day, it can literally feel like I live in a friggin tornado half the time! I swear that neighbors can probably see our house pulsating from the outside at times. And if there IS such a thing as having too much fun...we are on the border!

Anyways, here's some updates on each of us. K-Rock is in a hip-hop dance class and LOVES it. He definitely has a knack for it too! He will be in two parades this summer, the Riverdale and Roy ones. (and yes, he's still crazy!)

Next here is The Bo-Myster. He is signing really good now (he is saying 'please' in this pic because he wants my camera!) and definitely preferes that over actually talking...which he can do, just won't! He got tubes in his ears about a month ago and everything is going fine with that. He is soooo happy and sweet! I just want to hug him till his head pops off!

Here they are at the Zoo with their cousins. Kessler in his rightful spot.

A-Man is just finishing off T-ball. They have two games left. He is a hard-core competitor. Here he is playing an intense game of Rock-Paper-Scissor while he anxiously awaits his turn to bat. Whew! Sometimes we have to say, "Calm down Aidan, It's just a game!"

K-Rock is OBSESSED with Rob Thomas! If we ever want him to wear something, all we have to say is "Rob Thomas has these shorts", and discussion is over. He is asking me here if he looks like Rob Thomas with that necklace-thing. Of course you do babe!!!

We just got back from Bear Lake where we had tons of fun. (So much that it took a whole day for me to recover!) Here is C-Dawg and Tyson (cousin) on a paddle boat. They were really good at it.

Bo-Bo-Myster---aaaaawwwwwww! So cute!!!! (growl when you say cute, for emphasis.)

A-Man at Bear Lake. We put 85 power sunblock on him every 45 min. And guess what!!!? We did it! Our first time taking him to Bear Lake and him not coming home with blisters!!!! Yay Us!!! I pretty much glued that had to his head and made him wear either a T-shirt or life jacket the whole time. Poor kiddo.

Well, I guess that's good for now. But I just want to get serious on your @$$ for just a minute. I recently have seen and heard some disheartening things about the joys of parenting and motherhood. It seems like nowdays it is so much easier to just opt out. I'm not gonna lie, it is super hard being a mom! In fact, at times it down right sucks! But nothing in life worth doing is easy. Being a mom is the most fulfilling and rewarding thing that exists. The joy it brings is impossible to articulate and unequalled by anything else. It may not be fancy, eloquent, or even popular; but it's real. It's how you leave your imprint on the future.

One day this season in my life will be over, and that will be a sad day. But until then, we will play!

Hello anyone who hasn't given up on checking our blog for (maybe) an update!! Since my life is not as crazy as it usually is, my new goal is to try to be a better blogger. We'll see how long it lasts...
Our latest big news is that I, Felicia, finally got my student teaching assignment. I will be at Sand Ridge Jr. High. It was so relieving to finally get this, as many of you know. I am soooo excited. But in the meantime I still have the Praxis test to take in 3 weeks...one hurdle at a time. I may not be doing my student teaching at all if I don't pass this test!
The kids are enjoying their summer, at least whenever it is sunny and they can play outside. Aidan and Kessler both learned how to ride their bike sans training wheels last week! That was so much fun. Aidan also just finished his T-ball, with his daddy as the coach. That was way fun, but both Brandon and Aidan are glad to be done. Colbyn has found his first true love...fishing! He watches the fishing channel ever chance he gets and wants to go fishing every day. Bohde is ready to crawl any day, though I am not looking forward to it. I hate the crawling phase! (And I am in denial of him getting bigger...I want him to stay my little angel baby forever!!)

XOXOXO- "till next time!
